Public Health Research in Palliative Care: Shifting the Paradigm

25th to 26th October 2018, Brussels, Belgium.

On 25th and 26th October 2018, the EAPC (European Association for Palliative Care) Reference Group on Public Health and Palliative Care and EAPC RN (Research Network) will hold their first international seminar on Public Health Research in Palliative Care in Brussels. The title of this seminar is “Public Health Research in Palliative Care: Shifting the Paradigm“.

The seminar will consist of a selection of invited plenary lectures and presentations based on abstract submissions, and there will be an opportunity for poster presentations.

The themes of the seminar are:

  • Improving support in society for palliative care
  • Death, dying and loss
  • Family caregiving for people with serious illness
  • Volunteers in end-of-life and palliative care
  • Non-professional agents and organizations in end-of-life and palliative care
  • Collaboration and coalitions between health care services and civil society or the general public
  • Community interventions to improve end-of-life or bereavement care
  • Public health policy to improve end-of-life or bereavement care in society
