EHFG 2020: Registration Is Open for the Online Conference

30th September to 3rd October 2020, online conference.

The European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) is pleased to share the conference programme of the EHFG 2020 and extend a warm invitation to register for this year’s digital conference taking place from 30 September to 2 October 2020.

The EHFG 2020 will be held under the main theme: Dancing with elephants – New partnerships for health, democracy, business. The determinants of health and well-being are often driven by the interests of big players, which are not always aligned with public health agendas. In order to purposefully engage with these giants while safeguarding the interests of people, we need to conceptualise new partnership models – learn to “dance with elephants” – but we should be careful not to get our toes crushed. The COVID-19 pandemic has put into sharp focus the current fault lines in our systems and highlighted the need for true cross-sector and cross-border collaboration.

Over the course of three days, twenty sessions and three plenaries will trigger conversations and seek answers to current health-related issues, from health systems resilience, empowerment of young people, the fight against antimicrobial resistance, to advancing innovation and digital transformation. Specifically, the Opening Plenary will explore new models, concepts and visions that could help us rethink priorities and build a coherent framework that facilitates a come-back as stronger societies and systems after the COVID-19 crisis. The Thursday Plenary will focus on the value and power of data and highlight how the COVID-19 “infodemic” has contributed to a broader environment of fear and panic. The Closing Plenary will look for long-term solutions and ask what the crisis means for the future of health in Europe and call for a strong European Health Union.

Registration for the 23rd edition of the EHFG is open, you can find more information regarding registration, programme and speakers on our website. Join us online and help us reconceptualise ideas and approaches that are standing in the way of progress. Let’s learn a new dance!
