Wilderness Medical Society 2020 Winter Conference

29th February to 4th March 2020, Sun Valley, Idaho, USA.

Sun Valley is where destination skiing was born. In addition to the opportunity to experience some of the best snowshoeing and skiing in the United States, conference highlights include:

  • Up to 26.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM and FAWM core and elective credits.
  • Hot topic lectures such as the complexity and gray areas of SAR, cutting edge technology for backcountry medicine, advances in frost bite, collaboration of associate providers, assessment and decision making in avalanche terrain, nutrition for the endurance athlete.
  • Exciting optional hands-on workshops including ice axe, avalanche rescue & resuscitation, foot care, wound closure.
  • Interesting optional small group sessions including wilderness boot camp,  GME mini-lectures, improvised wilderness medicine.
  • Four exciting pre-conferences: Level 1 Avalanche Course (DiMM candidates only), Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC), Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) and Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS).

Medical professionals who engage in winter wilderness activities, including mountain travel, who counsel the individuals who take part in such activities, or who practice in locations in which they are likely to encounter individuals who have been injured in such activities.
