13th July to 9th August 2025, Cambridge, UK
Imagine spending part of your summer immersed in the rich academic culture of Cambridge University, surrounded by global learners, renowned faculty, and the inspirational atmosphere of one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious institutions.
The International Summer Programme 2025 invites you to do just that.
Whether you’re passionate about Literature, Philosophy, Science, History, Business, or Global Challenges, this immersive, in-person programme allows you to explore new ideas, deepen existing knowledge, and engage in intellectual conversation with students and scholars from around the world.
A Rich, Flexible Academic Experience
The academic structure is both rigorous and flexible. You can choose to attend for one to four weeks, depending on your availability and interests. Each week, you’ll select:
- One morning course (9:00 – 10:30 AM)
- One afternoon course (1:30 – 3:00 PM)
Courses are offered in both 5-session (1-week) and 10-session (2-week) formats. If you choose a 10-session course that runs over two weeks, full attendance is required.
Class sizes are intentionally small – a maximum of 25 students per course – ensuring personalized interaction with expert Course Directors and fellow learners.
Beyond the Classroom: Plenary Lectures & Events
Each academic day includes 1 – 2 plenary lectures, offering stimulating perspectives on global issues, current research, and interdisciplinary topics. These are delivered by faculty and invited speakers and are designed to broaden your intellectual horizons beyond your chosen subjects.
In addition to the daily programme, a variety of evening events – such as talks, concerts, and traditional tea parties – bring the full Cambridge experience to life, blending culture with academia.
Preparing for the Programme
To get the most out of your studies, accepted applicants are given early access to a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) starting in February. Through the VLE, you’ll be able to:
- Review Course Materials and complete any required reading
- Access literary texts, primary sources, and supplementary resources
- Download the Student Handbook and College Notes
- Browse the Student Area for additional guidance and community interaction
This early preparation ensures you’re fully equipped to engage deeply with the content and get the maximum value from your time at Cambridge.
The Cambridge Experience
Courses are held in University Faculty and Department classrooms located on the historic Sidgwick Site, close to the heart of Cambridge.
As a participant, you’ll also have the option to stay in a Cambridge College, giving you a taste of collegiate life with traditional dining and social spaces. Shared meals and residence life foster strong connections among students, creating a vibrant, international community that spans generations (learners range from age 18 to 80+!).
A variety of accommodation options are available – including packages with bed, breakfast, evening meals, and overnight stays between consecutive programme weeks (unless otherwise stated).
To explore your accommodation choices and see full fee details, please visit the Accommodation Fees and Options section on the official programme website.
