3rd World Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine

15th to 18th October 2025, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

As the global health landscape continues to evolve, there is an increasing recognition of the value Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) brings to building resilient, equitable, and culturally responsive healthcare systems. The 3rd World Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (3rd WCTCIM) offers a pivotal opportunity for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration at the intersection of traditional knowledge and modern science.

A Global Forum for Knowledge Diversity and Integrative Health

This congress provides a space for the exchange of diverse approaches to health and healing, from codified systems such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda to localized Indigenous and community-based practices. It invites healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers to examine how these systems contribute to health and well-being across cultures and generations.

Participants will explore a wide range of themes that reflect the dynamic spectrum of TCIM practices and their growing integration into mainstream healthcare. These include the role of TCIM in managing complex clinical conditions, its contribution to mental health, cancer care, and cardiovascular disease, as well as its application across the lifespan from pediatric care to palliative and elder support.

From Community Practice to Policy Integration

A central focus of the congress is the practical and policy-level integration of TCIM into healthcare systems. Discussions will explore how traditional and complementary modalities are being used in both private and public health settings, including hospitals and primary care.

Attention will also be given to education and professional development. Strengthening training and capacity-building among healthcare professionals is critical to expanding access to safe, evidence-informed integrative care. The congress will showcase innovative models of interdisciplinary education, clinical training, and community health strategies that promote inclusive, patient-centered care.

Research and Evidence for a New Health Paradigm

Grounded in a strong research agenda, the 3rd WCTCIM emphasizes the importance of rigorous scientific inquiry and evidence-informed contributions to global public health. The program will feature presentations on clinical trials, public health interventions, implementation research, and outcomes evaluation that support the responsible integration of TCIM practices into health systems worldwide.

Sessions will also highlight how TCIM can contribute to the broader goals of Planetary Health and One Health. As the global community confronts the interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and human well-being, the congress will explore how ancient wisdom and ecological thinking can inform new approaches to health policy and sustainability.
