Die zeitnahe Bereitstellung qualitativ hochwertiger patienten- und gesundheitsbezogener Informationen ist eine wichtige Voraussetzung für eine effektive und effiziente Gesundheitsversorgung. Informationssysteme des Gesundheitswesens (z.B. Krankenhausinformationssysteme, elektronische Gesundheitsakten, patientenzentrierte Systeme, Telemonitoringsysteme, Patientenportale) unterstützen die Informationslogistik im Gesundheitswesen und tragen so zur Gesundheitsversorgung bei.
