Develop the student's understanding of the principles underlying policy and planning in the field of international maternal and child health, develop the student's ability to critically evaluate theory, research, policy and practice in international maternal and child health, develop essential professional and academic skills and approaches (including research and management skills) to enable participants to contribute to teaching, research, practice and/or policy developments in their discipline, encourage personal reflection and growth among participants
