The mainstream outlook of psychiatry is today more narrow than it ought to be. This situation impedes scientific progress and has negative clinical consequences. The aim of the course will be to examine the fundamental aspects of the clinician-patient encounter, the nature of psychiatric data and the methods of data collection in clinical neuroscience, and their epistemological and metaphysical underpinnings.
