At present, metabolic/bariatric surgery has been demonstrated to be the most effective treatment option that can dramatically improve several metabolic disorders and also result in meaningful and sustainable weight loss. It has been observed over many decades that bariatric surgical procedures will not only reduce patient weight but also improve metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes mellitus.
