Introduction

Going International operates the website https://www.goinginternational.eu (the "Site"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.

We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

 

Security and retention 

We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. We will not retain or keep your data longer than allowed by law, required by law and/or necessary for the purposes for which the data are processed. The retention period therefore depends on the nature of the data and the purposes for which the data is processed. Retention periods may vary accordingly. 

 

Data collection, data storage and data procession by Going International

Automatic Information Collection And Use

We collect and store the following data every time a file is requested from our website: IP address (anonymized), site from which the file was obtained, file name, date and time of access, browser type, browser version, operating system, amount of data transferred and confirmation of the success or failure of the retrieval attempt. We only use this information in anonymized form for the ongoing improvement of our services and for statistical purposes. This site uses Google Analytics to evaluate access data. If you are an organizer of courses/congresses and create a user account on our website, we store the following information:

  • Date of the last login
  • Date of creation of the user account
  • Date when the user has last received a message via our website
  • Date of creating/editing of courses/congresses
  • Language chosen by the organizer in the administration area
  • Contact information of the organizer and the employees entered by the organizer in the online education database (company name, address, name, phone number, email address, function of employees)

Your personal data is not shared with any third parties.

Storage of data in case of purchases in our webshop/in the organizer administration area

The following data is stored as cookies by the webshop operator to facilitate the purchase: IP address, name, address, credit card number (if the credit card is used for the purchase).

The following data is stored at Going International to be able to process the contract: company name, name of the customer, address, email address, VAT-number, articles purchased. This data is necessary for us to be able to fulfill the contractual obligations. The data will not be transferred to third parties, apart from the following cases: The credit card data will be transferred to the bank/payment service provider to enable us to collect payment; Data on the purchase will be transferred to our tax consultant to fulfill our fiscal obligations.

If a purchase is cancelled, all data related to the purchase is deleted. If a contract is concluded, all data related to this contract is stored for 7 years to fulfill the fiscal obligations.

Cookies

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive.

Like many sites, we use "cookies" to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help us analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. In the event of the activation of website anonymization on this website, your IP address will however be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the complete IP address be transferred to a Google server in the United States and stored there. Google will use this information on behalf of the owners of this website for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google will not associate your IP address, recorded from your browser in the context of Google Analytics, with any other data held by it. Facebook Plugins

Going International uses “social plugins” by Facebook such as the “Recommend”  button on the Going International website as well as in the Going International newsletter GI-Mail. These plugins are provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA and either have the Facebook logo or a “thumbs up” symbol. If you open a website by Going International that contains such a plugin, your browser will establish a connection to the Facebook servers. Facebook sends the content of the plugin directly to your web browser and displays it accordingly on Going International websites. Going International has no control over the content of the plugins.

With the transfer of data Facebook might be able to trace your visit on our website and associate it with your Facebook account if you are a Facebook user or if you recently visited either a Facebook website or a website with content by Facebook. If you actively use those plugins, for example by clicking on a Recommend or Like button, information on this will be sent directly from your browser to Facebook, without Going International having any control over this. Twitter

With Twitter and its Retweet functions, we use social plug-ins from Twitter.com, operated by Twitter Inc. 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107. The Google +1 Button

In addition to social plug-ins by other providers, we also use the +1 button by Google.com, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This button can be found at the bottom of each page and is marked by the “+1” logo.

When a page on our website is accessed, the browser establishes a direct connection with Google’s servers, allowing the button to be transmitted to the browser and displayed on our website. Via the button, Google receives the information that this specific page of our internet presence was accessed. If you are logged in to your Google account at the time of the visit, Google is able to associate that visit with you. If you then click on the +1 button, this information is sent to Google directly and will be saved in your user account.

Google AdSense

Newsletter GI-Mail

Going International offers you a newsletter service free of charge. To be able to provide you with the monthly newsletter GI-Mail we need your email address and a declaration stating that you would like to receive the newsletter. To be able to better provide you with information that is useful for you we also collect and process information on fields of interest, medical subject and home town. Giving this information is not compulsory when you subscribe to GI-Mail.

We send our monthly newsletters by making use of the services of Cleverreach GmbH & Co. KG (Germany). The newsletter informs you about current courses, congresses, jobs and publications from the fields of medicine & health. The data you enter when subscribing to GI-Mail is forwarded to Cleverreach and is saved by Cleverreach and in our own database of newsletter subscribers. You can unsubscribe from GI-Mail anytime by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link that you can find at the bottom of each newsletter or by sending an email to office@goinginternational.org.

 

Your rights

You have the right to know which personal data we keep regarding you, to inspect such data, and to request correction or deletion. You can send a message to this end with your name and contact information to Going International. Any request received will be processed within one calendar month of the Going International accepting your request. To help us identify the personal information you are referring to, please include any details that will enable us to locate the relevant personal information.

In order to be sure that your personal information is not disclosed to an imposter, we may require you to provide us with proof of identity before any action is taken or personal information is disclosed.

If you are still unhappy with our response to such a request you may complain to the „Datenschutzbehörde“.

 

Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of May 2018 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.
