Though the overall goal of development aid is still to foster economic development and reduce poverty in the poorest places on the globe, there is a strong trend towards supporting measurable objectives, outcomes and impacts. Therefore the fields of economics and statistics are given more prominent roles when measuring whether foreign aid \"works\". This course will examine how the the impact of aid is evaluated through cutting edge research within economics.
Objetivos de formación
You will get an overview of the main findings within academic research on foreign aid effectiveness, get an understanding of the challenges facing aid evaluation, ability to assess the value of new research, and be able to conduct evaluation studies.
Destinatario
The course is for anyone working with the impact of development aid and who are interested in how the state of knowledge on quantitative analyses of aid effectiveness can contribute.
Calificaciones
Participants are expected to at least hold bachelor\'s degree or equivalent.
