This course covers the physical, psychological and social aspects of living with HIV and includes the basic concepts of diagnosis of HIV and HIV-related diseases. The module also covers the evolution of antiretroviral therapy, state-of-the art ART and the prevention of HIV-related diseases including obstacles to successful treatment results. Furthermore, teaching will focus on treatment-related toxicity, resistance development, problems with adherence, use of health care facilities and stigma

Describe and interpret HIV-diagnostic laboratory investigations and results;
Describe the nature and course of HIV-infection; Describe the main groups of OIs; Explain how to diagnose and treat the most common OIs; Use current treatment guidelines

Doctors, economists, midwives, nurses, psychologists, public health specialists, political scientists and social scientists. Persons with other related educational backgrounds are also invited to submit an application.

Calificaciones
A Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. health sciences, social sciences, etc.) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized higher education institution; At least two years of relevant work experience; Proof of English proficiency; Basic IT/computer Skills
