The course is aimed at board-certified radiologists and fellows interested in understanding the challenges of thrombectomy. Mechanical thrombectomy using stentretriever is the new standard treatment for patients suffering from anterior circulation acute ischemic strokes with large vessel occlusions. Due to the dramatic increase in the number of acute ischemic stroke patients receiving MT for the last 3 years, the need to train physicians in mechanical thrombectomy has also become more prominent.
