How<\/em> you say things can be as important as what<\/em> you say.\u00a0 You are more likely to have effective and satisfying consultations with your patients (and colleagues) if you use appropriate language, i.e. language that is understandable, respectful, and honest.<\/p>\n

\"Communication<\/a><\/strong>Try the following tips for understandable<\/strong> language:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Simplify<\/em> (e.g. break long explanations down in smaller parts);
\n\u2013 Make your speech recognisable<\/em> (e.g. adjust your speed to your patient\u2019s speed, use the same kind of vocabulary, \u2026)
