class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-small\">World Malaria Day 2023 challenges:<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bcf345c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bcf345c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>The Western Pacific still faces challenges on the way to eliminate the diverse malaria diseases.<\/li><li>The disease often concentrated in remote areas and hard-to-reach populations, including forest goers, migrants, indigenous people, military and refugees.<\/li><li>Plasmodium falciparum accounts for more than 70% of malaria deaths in the region, often due to delayed treatment.<\/li><li>Reaching remote populations (e.g. in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands) with malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment is a critical strategy for achieving global malaria targets and delivering on the promise of \u201czero malaria.\u201d<\/li><li>WHO is working with the Western Pacific regions to implement intensification strategies, including targeted drug administration, fever screening and treatment, and rapid response to all malaria cases.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-08b0d5e elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"08b0d5e\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li><strong>Step up innovation<\/strong>: No single tool that is available today will solve the problem of malaria.\u00a0 Add your voice to those calling for investments that bring new vector control approaches, diagnostics, antimalarial medicines and other tools to speed the pace of progress against malaria.<\/li><li><strong>Expand access to the tools we have now<\/strong>: There is an urgent need to make more effective use of currently available tools for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of malaria, particularly in countries hardest hit by malaria.<\/li><li><strong>Expand the use of RTS,S \u2013 the first malaria vaccine<\/strong>: WHO recommends expanded use of the vaccine among children living in areas with moderate and high malaria transmission. If implemented broadly, the vaccine could save tens of thousands of lives each year<\/li><li><strong>Strengthen country ownership<\/strong>: Government stewardship of malaria responses is essential, together with the engagement and participation of affected communities.\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Ensure resilient and equitable health systems:\u00a0<\/strong>Progress against malaria depends on strong health systems that are adequately funded and equipped to deliver quality health care to all.<\/li><li><strong>Tailor responses to the local setting:<\/strong>\u00a0WHO\u2019s updated malaria strategy<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>emphasizes the need for carefully tailored prevention, diagnostic and treatment approaches, informed by local data and disease patterns.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element
