Course Content
Public health approach to war and other forms of violence; health care workers’ contribution to the reduction of peace deficits; health professionals’ own peace qualities and other useful peace skills; opportunities for violence prevention and peace promotion at workplace and in clinical practice.
Learning objectives, training objectives
Course 1 is an introduction to Medical Peace Work. It gives you a basic summary of terminology and concepts, and provides an overview of the courses that follow. Some useful peace skills are also presented.

Doctors, nurses, public health workers, mental health practitioners, other health professionals, as well as students in these fields

Health professionals work for humanitarian, development, human rights, or medical peace organizations abroad or at home. And, health professionals improve health outcomes for their patients and communities in violence-prone settings.
