Course Content
The aim of the course is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills enabling them to use of GIS as a tool for improved planning and performance of disease control. Special attention is given to data-management requirements and how routine program data incorporated into GIS system can be effectively utilized to strengthen program management. Participants will be introduced to space-time analysis of epidemiological data, risk mapping and geo-spatial access analysis.

Key concepts of GIS, spatial analysis and a techniques for the dissemination of analytical results for decision support in public health.
Target Audience
This module can be taken as part of the Master in International Health (MIH), designed for medical doctors, nurses, midwives and other health professionals with at least BSc level education who are developing a career in international health
Qualifications
Relevant work experience in public/international health, Proven proficiency English, Regular access to computer/internet (broadband) for duration of the module, Basic computer skills

Duration of the course 6 weeks in total:
4 weeks interactive learning & 2 weeks working on assignment and final exam
